Shadows Dance was born of my need for connection and community, and it was through the process of creating it that the founding principles of Primal Curio were realised. By applying the paint with my bare hands in a meditative process, I was able to connect to this artwork in a way I never have before.
The fire that burns in the heart of the image bathes the dancing figures in bright white light, while the shadows they cast flicker out into the unknown. The joy and excitement of communing with nature sits alongside the fear of the unseen and the incredible power of the elements. We are at home in the light and the darkness. We are a part of the dance as well as the shadows. Above all, we are connected to more than we realise including things we don't even know exist.
